I want to make one thing clear to you.  I LOVE YOU and will continue to love you until we depart from this world.  Ever since I held you in my arms for the first time, up until now, I have loved you.  No matter what happens- I will love you.  No matter how I act- I love you.  I am here for you now, and will always be there for you in the future because I love you.

I love you even when you screw up

You may make me mad, frustrate me, disappoint me, curse my name, hate me, rebel against me, but nothing you can or will ever do will make me stop loving you. I recognize that you came from God. He created you. My role as your father is to provide for you, to protect you, and to teach you about the world. One important to understand is that love is the most powerful force in the world. It trumps everything else – bar none.

Psalm 127:  3Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a real blessing.
The sons a man has when he is young
are like arrows in a soldier’s hand.

What does this quote mean to me

I consider both of you a blessing from God.  You are my sons, and I am your father.  God has charged me with a great responsibility as your father, and I take that obligation seriously. You are definitely a blessing in my life. I love the analogy that you both are like arrows in my hand. Ready to be launched into the battle. Designed for a clear purpose, and a danger to our enemies.

I am Doug Keating and this is my letter to sons.
